Growing up in the Bronx, Donald experienced many hardships that would cause him later to seek a relationship with God that would be greater than his pain. Various family hardships caused his family to move many times, leaving behind many memories, many friends, and many experiences. One such move landed him in a housing project called Soundview. The public school that he attended, due to this move, caused him to cross paths with a fourth grade teacher named Mrs. Duewson. She taught a bible class every Thursday after school that included only the children who attended the school. During one particular bible study, she taught a lesson about accepting Jesus Christ into your heart. She then had every student verbally give Jesus His position in his or her heart. That day Donald followed her instruction and something unexplainable happened. He left the building with a presence on him that changed his life and how he viewed the realness of God. Later finding out that that presence was the visitation of the Holy Ghost. He can remember crossing the street and never following the "looking both ways" rule. Donald also remembers not being able to see or hear the normal sites and sounds of the busy projects. It was as if he were carried home. With all that was just said it is still not enough to explain what occurred within his life that day. This experience would be the memory that saved his life and brought him to Christ.

Due to an extremely violent situation, Donald was forced to move again, leaving behind more memories, more friends, more experiences and Thursday’s after school bible studies. He then moved to a project called Edenwald, where Donald’s bad became worse. Giving into family, peer, and life’s pressures, he begin a down hill spiral into smoking, drinking, fornication, and every sin that the devil made available to him. Along the way he met a young lady who brought him to a church called Greater Faith Temple, where he came in contact with a preaching woman named Pastor Michelle White. Pastor White’s preaching style and what he now knows to be an anointing intrigued and amazed him. He joined

her church…every time he went. Never becoming a full member because although he wanted to do well, his battle with the projects, his family, and his own mind always pulled him back into what he most wanted to get away from.

He recalls one night in the mist of all that was going on around him crying this secret prayer:

"God I don’t see a way out and if anything is ever to become of my life you are going to have to do it, God this can’t be it for me, this can’t be my end. Lord, I know your real, I know you exist, I don’t know rather to call you Jesus, Allah, I got people saying because I’m black I’m God, I just know you must have more for me, I just can’t imagine how I’m going to be free from this, If it’s going to be done your going to have to do it."

Through prayer, knowing that if any type of real deliverance would come, it had to be through Jesus Christ. He moved to Baltimore, Maryland and after accepting an invitation to a church service from his sister, Doleta Crosby, and visiting on occasion, he became a member in 1999. There, he became active in many facets of ministries including evangelism and outreach. Donald became a faithful member of the church but even greater, a faithful member of the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. Donald began to bring family and friends from New York to Baltimore, Maryland to find God. He would house them and charge them nothing. He only required them to give God a chance. Many came, and many went, and he began to watch people’s lives change. This led him into a greater hunger for souls; this hunger led him into the hospitals, homes, and ultimately the streets. It was then that the Lord began to expose to him the gift of evangelism. Eventually, those who Donald had evangelized to began to follow him. Being a member of this church led him to the man who recognized the call on his life Bishop Anthony Stanton Sr.

Upon realizing God’s call on his life to lead his people, Donald started having RAPP Sessions/Bible Study in his home which was held once every week. That was the foundational service for God's Kingdom Builders Church which is still over three years later as powerful as it was when it first started.
